Thomas Jefferson and the Barbary Pirate Wars

LEFTISTS will tell you that it was Thomas Jefferson’s own copy of the koran that the Moslem Congressman Keith Ellison and Rashida Tlaib were sworn in on. (Ilhan Omar, was sworn in on her own koran.)
That part is TRUE.
However, what they fail to mention is that when Jefferson bought his koran, the Moslems in North Africa were attacking American commercial shipping and holding the cargo and the SURVIVORS for ransom. (Just like the modern-day Somali Pirates)

Thomas Jefferson had been told that Islam requires Moslems to rob & kill infidels wherever they find them, which he found too hard to believe. Jefferson understood the ancient military adage, “Know your enemy,” and reading the koran was part of the research he did to fulfill his duty as Commander-in-Chief.
So, he had a koran imported from France to read it for himself. Sure enough, it was right in there, in the 109 verses of the koran that call for violence against the infidels!
The US First Amendment was written by the Founders to protect the free exercise of Christianity. They were making no effort to give special protections to Islam. Quite the contrary, Americans at the time were dealing with their first encounters with jihad in the form of the Barbary Pirates.
Jefferson was told it was their “Religious Duty” and written in the UNholy koran. Jefferson could not believe that, so he bought the koran to prove or disprove that.
President Thomas Jefferson finally got fed up with paying TRIBUTE to the Moslems and launched a war against them.

The Barbary Wars were a series of two wars fought by the United States, Sweden, and the Kingdom of Sicily against the Barbary states (including Tunis, Algiers, and Tripoli) and Morocco of North Africa in the early 19th century. Sweden had been at war with the Tripolitans since 1800 and was joined by the newly independent US. The First Barbary War extended from 10 May 1801 to 10 June 1805, with the Second Barbary War lasting only three days, ending on 19 June 1815.

The wars were largely a reaction to piracy by the Barbary states. Since the 16th century, North African pirates had captured ships and even raided cities across the Mediterranean Sea. By the 19th century, pirate activity had declined, but Barbary pirates continued to demand tribute from American merchant vessels in the Mediterranean. Refusal to pay would result in the capture of American ships and goods, and often the enslavement or ransoming of crew members.

After Thomas Jefferson became president of the US in March 1801, he sent a U.S. Navy fleet to the Mediterranean to combat the Barbary pirates. The fleet bombarded numerous fortified cities in present-day Libya, Tunisia, and Algeria, ultimately extracting concessions of safe conduct from the Barbary states and ending the first war.

During the War of 1812, with the encouragement of the United Kingdom, the Barbary corsairs resumed their attacks on American vessels. Following the conclusion of the War of 1812 and America’s peace with Britain, James Madison, Jefferson’s successor, directed military forces against the Barbary states in the Second Barbary War. Lasting only three days, the second conflict ended the need for further tribute from the United States, granted the U.S. full shipping rights in the Mediterranean Sea, and significantly reduced the incidence of piracy in the region.

It was called the “Barbary Wars” (1801-1805 and 1815) because the Moslems launched from the Barbary Coast, the north coast of Africa, in the Mediterranean Sea.

The sword, which is part of the Marine dress uniform, is in memory of the Barbary Wars. The US Marine’s nickname… Leathernecks… derives from the wide leather collar that the Marines wore when going into battle with Muslim pirates knowing that they used their scimitars to behead their captives.

There were slave-taking pirate raids as far west as the coasts of Georgia and the Carolinas. There were not a lot of those raids (it was a long way for the Barbary Pirates to travel) However, they were meant as an “object lesson” to America, that if we didn’t pay the tribute, we were vulnerable ANYWHERE along our coasts and navigable rivers, just as they had been doing in Mediterranean Sea, and other parts of Europe for over 700 years.

While many millions of native Africans were captured and enslaved by Arab Muslims, some were sold to others, and some we kept to be sold for Muslim use.
However, most of the captives never made the entire journey as a captive slave because they succumbed to the rigors of the cruelty the captors inflicted.

Muslims raided Europe for white slaves and took millions over the 700 years involved. They were still doing it, including raiding US shipping when the US Marines attacked in retaliation, and received the name ‘Leathernecks’, and that is where the “...to the Shores of Tripoli” came from.

From a Constitutional point of view, Moslems have no First Amendment right to even build mosques in America, (let alone be the President.) They have that privilege at the moment, but it is a privilege that can be revoked if, as is, in fact, the case, Islam is a totalitarian ideology dedicated to the destruction of the United States and every other nation on earth. The Constitution is not a suicide pact. It does not require us to harbor enemy combatants and fifth columns.

Can a so-called ‘religion’ which recruits and retains by lethal force, with lies and deceit be legitimate and entitled to protection under the penumbra of the free exercise of religion clause?

Can there be ‘rights’ to attack the nearest disbelievers, murder, plunder, rape and enslave them? Those ‘rights’ are obligations/duties that are incumbent on every Muslim.

We can use those fatal facts in campaigning against Muslim aspirants for high office.

The Constitution, it bears repeating, is not a suicide pact. For Moslems, patriotism is not the last refuge of a scoundrel, but the First Amendment is.

While there was no test for a position in the US government, there were no Muslims, (here in the USA) no Communists, or Nazis in the 18th century when Constitution was forged in 1789, but its Founders and subsequent US presidents were aware of the Muslim Barbary Pirates who were attacking US merchant ships and enslaving US sailors. The US government spent over 20% of its annual budget to ransom those enslaved US sailors, from Muslims. Here is what John Quincy Adams thought about Islam and Muslims as he read the Koran… which Jefferson had obtained to find out what kind of asinine religion urges Muslims to kill and enslave all non-Muslims:

In March 1785 – the US Congress sent three of America’s greatest thinkers and Statesmen: Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, and John Quincy Adams made a trip to France to try and negotiate with the Islamic Ambassadors and address the issue of Moslems attacking American export ships. The Moslem pirates declared they had the right to do so and even tried to demand a Jizyah tax: a ‘Protection Money’… or tax to be paid to them because the ships were infidels, Paying Tribute or “Protection Money” for them to not plunder the ships. Jefferson had even bought a koran to study it and to further his understanding of the enemy… Which, incidentally the filthy Leftist swine today try to claim that he owned it because he admired their beliefs, or used it to write the Constitution! Anyway… It did not go well as it never does with Muzz, and so this comment means that the plundering of “infidels” in their koran is not forbidden because they believe that God gave the world to them and everything in it. (Their faith has one goal… to achieve Dar-el-Salam, which means global domination by Islam) Therefore, this is saying they think they are entitled to enjoy it rightly, and as fast as they can conquer.

Incidentally… After their failed attempt to negotiate, Jefferson and Adams returned home and founded the U.S. Marines as an answer to the problem.

The American colonies under Britain, had already been fighting Islam for 200 years by the time this nation was established. By the first term of George Washington, 6% of the budget was being paid to Barbary Pirates, an Islamic Nation. In 1785 – the US Congress sent three of America’s greatest thinkers and Statesmen: Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, and John Quincy Adams made a trip to France to try and negotiate with the Islamic Ambassadors and address the issue of Moslems attacking American export ships. The chief Muslim cleric stated that their prophet said that all non-believers deserved ‘death’ or ‘slavery’ and had to pay the Jizyah tax or a ransom for their head ‘Protection Money’ of 30% or more annually, of which you would receive absolutely no benefit as a Non-Moslem to stay alive, and that all nations should bow down to Islam or suffer destruction, according to Shariah Law. Thomas Jefferson wrote the religious freedom tenets in the Constitution. His logic in 1786, in writing the law that was passed by Congress banning Islam from America was based on the simple fact that Shariah Law “Is Islam” and that one cannot separate “Shariah” from “Islam”, which makes it a “political system of belief” rather than a “religion”. Shariah, he concluded is totally incompatible with the American Republic, and the ‘rule of law’ set forth by the Constitution. Because of this, the Marine Corp was created, our Leathernecks, who sailed to the Barbary Coast and laid waste to Islam, its ‘political pirates’, and served the global community an invaluable service. By the time America acted, over 1 million Europeans and American sailors had been sold into slavery after being captured by the Muslim pirates. In conclusion, Islam is a ‘political system’ whose ‘only goal’ is to enslave the world in the Muslim religion, where the ‘rule of law’ is controlled by a few at the top to the utter destruction of enlightenment. The Muslim “religion” has already been banned from America; we now only need to ‘heed the rule of law’ and enforce it. Ban the Muslim political system from American soil, and deport ALL who will not renounce its tenets, back to the country of origin. All mosques must be destroyed, and ‘banned’ from American soil. We should also, discontinue the purchase of any oil from a Muslim country, and become energy self-sufficient. Why feed the lion when you know it will kill you?
